      Dealing with “that guy”
      Community Support
I have an NCO in my formation that is become a bigger and bigger issue. Setting a bad example for the younger guys in the Plt while also influencing the other NCO’s around him. I know the influence he has over the younger guy, he is the “party with his joes” guy. This guy is smart, too smart for his own good. Good at his MOS job, but nothing beyond that. If there is something he ”doesn’t like/thinks is dumb” flat out will not do. I’ve gone the counseling route, and NCOER, but is set on ETS. 1SG doesn’t want him removed from position until we get a new guy. Chapter discussion is on the table but honestly not the route I want to take. How do I stop this guy from spreading his mindset and attitude? Or even better turn him around and make him the NCO I know he has the potential to be. Looking for reading resources/anyone with a similar experience.

“Do you believe there is a balance of both being a “good war time soldier” and a “garrison soldier” or is it one or the other?”
